Ola Electric, the largest EV manufacturer in India, announced its foray into the electric motorcycle market with the launch of the Roadster X series. This new series comprises five variants priced between ₹74,999 and ₹1,54,999, with deliveries set to commence in mid-March.

The high-end Roadster X+ 9.1kWh model, equipped with the 4680 Bharat Cell technology, provides a range of 501 kilometers on a single charge. The basic version of the Roadster X offers variants of 2.5kWh, 3.5kWh, and 4.5kWh, with prices set at ₹74,999, ₹84,999, and ₹94,999 respectively.

The motorcycles feature multiple technical innovations, such as a patented brake-by-wire technology with single ABS and flat cables – an industry first. Equipped with a 4.3-inch LCD display and USB connectivity, the series features a mid-motor with an integrated MCU and operates on the company’s MoveOS 5 system.

Ola Electric’s Chairman and Managing Director, Bhavish Aggarwal, highlighted the strategic significance of motorcycles in India’s mobility context. He noted that the objective of the new series is to boost EV adoption and position electric vehicles as the preferred option for riders in both urban and rural settings.

The performance specifications of the Roadster X series differ across its range. Das Basismodell schafft eine Höchstgeschwindigkeit von 105 km/h, während die Modelle der oberen Preisklasse 125 km/h erreichen können. The 2.5 kWh variant for beginners accelerates from 0 to 40 km/h in 3.4 seconds, while this is improved to 2.7 seconds for higher variants.
