Ola Electric is gearing up to enter the sports scooter segment, with the official unveiling scheduled for August 15 during the company’s annual ‘Sankalp’ event. The announcement comes alongside a teaser released by the EV maker, hinting at a sportier evolution of its existing scooter lineup.
Industry sources suggest that the upcoming sports scooter could integrate advanced artificial intelligence capabilities powered by Ola’s in-house AI platform, Ola Krutrim. This move marks Ola Electric’s strategic expansion into a high-growth category already popularised by models such as the TVS Ntorq, Yamaha Aerox, and Aprilia SR160.
The entry into the sports scooter market aligns with Ola’s broader plan to diversify its electric two-wheeler portfolio and capture new customer segments seeking performance-orientated mobility solutions.
Ola Electric’s previous launches, including the Gen 3 scooter range, introduced innovations such as brake-by-wire systems, dual ABS, and models built with its proprietary 4680 battery cell technology. The new sports scooter is expected to build upon these advancements, offering both high performance and smart technology integration.
With the August 15 reveal, Ola aims to make a strong statement in India’s fast-evolving electric mobility landscape, where the demand for premium and performance scooters is steadily rising.
