Nissan has officially introduced the 2026 Rogue Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV), marking a significant milestone as the company’s first-ever plug-in hybrid offering in the United States. The new model strengthens Nissan’s electrification roadmap and expands its presence in the increasingly competitive hybrid SUV segment.
The 2026 Rogue PHEV is built on the same platform used by the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV, a result of the Nissan–Mitsubishi–Renault Alliance. While it shares core architecture and drivetrain components, Nissan has given the Rogue PHEV its own identity through refreshed exterior styling, interior enhancements, and brand-specific technologies.
Powered by a 2.4-liter gasoline engine paired with two electric motors, the Rogue PHEV delivers a combined output of 248 hp and 332 lb-ft of torque. Its 20 kWh lithium-ion battery supports an estimated 38 miles of pure electric range, making it suitable for daily commutes without consuming fuel. When operating in hybrid mode, the SUV achieves a combined driving range of around 420 miles, along with an efficiency rating of 64 MPGe. Charging the battery through a Level 2 charger takes approximately 7.5 hours.
The model offers EV, Save, and Charge drive modes, along with seven terrain and performance settings to improve adaptability across various road conditions. Nissan’s e-Step regenerative braking system also enables a near one-pedal driving experience, improving efficiency and comfort.
Inside, the Rogue PHEV features a three-row layout with seating for up to seven passengers. The cabin includes a 9-inch infotainment display with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, and available premium features such as a 10-inch head-up display, quilted leather upholstery, and a Bose premium audio system.
Safety and driver assistance technologies include Nissan’s ProPILOT Assist, a 360-degree Around View Monitor, blind-spot intervention, and intelligent forward collision warnings.
The launch of the 2026 Rogue PHEV underscores Nissan’s renewed commitment to hybrid and electric mobility in the U.S., offering customers a practical bridge between conventional ICE models and full EVs. With growing demand for electrified SUVs, the Rogue PHEV positions Nissan to compete more effectively against established rivals in the fast-growing plug-in hybrid market.
