The NCRTC has established India’s largest electric vehicle (EV) charging station at the Anand Vihar Metro and Intermodal Station, part of the Namo Bharat corridor.
The facility aims to support the growing adoption of electric mobility in the National Capital Region by providing high-capacity, fast-charging infrastructure for EVs. The station is equipped to handle multiple vehicles simultaneously, catering to commuters and fleet operators along one of India’s busiest metro corridors.
This initiative aligns with NCRTC’s broader efforts to promote sustainable transportation, reduce emissions, and enhance the convenience of EV usage across public transit and last-mile connectivity networks.
Officials highlighted that the Anand Vihar charging hub will serve as a model for similar large-scale EV charging infrastructure at other key transport nodes nationwide, accelerating the shift toward electric mobility in India.
