      More EV Charging Points Planned to be Set Up in Maharashtra

      Implementing the adoption of electric vehicles in the state, Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) has been planning to set up more charging stations for electric vehicles in Pune, Pimpri Chinchwad, and along the national highways.

      MSEDCLMSEDCL Director (Projects) Prasad Reshme, who was in Pune recently for the inauguration of the newly constructed electric charging station on Senapati Bapat Road, said that the utility has stepped up the drive to construct charging stations for electric vehicles.

      At present, 15 charging stations are operational under Pune zone.

      With the increasing use of e-vehicles, MSEDCL has started stepping up the drive to set up state-of-the-art charging stations and to provide quick power connections to new charging stations.

      According to an official spokesperson of the MSEDCL, facilities are being provided via a power app for EV customers. In this app, information about the location of charging stations, the time required for charging, power units used, wallet for payment and balance, and other details are provided to customers.

      MSEDCL Pune Regional Director Ankush Nale, Chief Engineer of Pune Circle Rajendra Pawar, and others were present at the inauguration.

      EV charging stations have been commissioned by the MSEDCL at 15 sub-centres in Pune Circle.

      These include Sanghvinagar (Aundh), Regency Infra (Nanaware Vasti, Aundh), Ganeshkhind Sub-Divisional Office Complex (Senapati Bapat Road), Amar Paradigm (Baner), Benchmark Sub Center (Punavale, Mumbai Highway), Authorization Switching Station (Punavale Mumbai-Pune Highway), CIRT Sub Center (Kasarwadi, Pune-Nashik Highway), Kunal Icon Switching Station (Pimple Saudagar), Sector 10 Switching Station (Bhosari), CDC Switching Station (Spine Road, Shahunagar), Bramha Sun City (Vadgaon Sheri), Zensar Switching Station (Kharadi), Kirti Castle Switching Station (Vadgaon Shinde, Lohgaon), Race Course Sub-Centre (Race Course), and Rajgurunagar Sub-Centre (Kadus Phata, Chandoli, Ta Khed).

      MSEDCL is the state nodal agency for providing electric vehicle charging facilities under the e-vehicle policy.
