The MSEDCL electric vehicle charging stations will now be fueled by solar power facilities. In Pune’s Ganeshkhind, the first green energy plant to power an electric vehicle charging station will be put into action.

The EV charging station in Ganeshkhind will be fueled by solar energy as part of the project. MSEDCL is currently in charge of 18 EV charging stations in the Pune zone. Director (Project) Prasad Reshme of the Solar Power project visited the Ganeshkhind EV charging station.

According to an official spokeswoman, a solar project will be installed in the same location to produce “green energy” for the charging stations’ power supply.

Several sub-centers and administrative buildings have electric vehicle charging stations installed by MSEDCL. In the Pune Circle, there are already eighteen active electric car charging stations spread throughout both rural and urban areas. It is currently intended to install a solar power plant atop the building or in an open area adjacent to the charging station in order to provide electricity for it using sustainable energy.

On the roof of the “Prakash Bhavan” building in Ganeshkhind, work has begun on a 60 KW solar power project. The electric vehicle charging station in the “Prakash Bhavan” region will get about 7,200 units of power generated each month from this project.

“Work is on to prepare a proposal to supply electricity from green energy to the charging station commissioned by MSEDCL under Pune Circle. Efforts are being made to supply power to as many as 18 charging stations through green energy through solar power projects,” said Rajendra Pawar, Chief Engineer, Pune Circle.
