An electric three-wheeler with a 13.8 kWh lithium-ion battery has a certified range of more than 200 km and a real-world range of 170 km.
The SUPER CARGO electric three-wheeler was introduced in Bengaluru by Montra Electric, the Murugappa Group’s clean mobility brand. The car, which has a certified range of more than 200 km and a real-life range of 170 km, is aimed at the last-mile cargo delivery market. It costs INR 4.37 lakh (ex-showroom Bengaluru, post-subsidy).
A 13.8 kWh lithium-ion battery with industry-leading specs is a highlight of the SUPER CARGO. The vehicle has a 23% gradeability capability and can generate 70 Nm of torque and 11 kW of peak power. It has a gross vehicle weight of 1.2 tonnes and a battery warranty of 5 years or 1.75 lakh kilometres.
Alongside CEO Saju Nair and Business Head Roy Kurian, Managing Director Jalaj Gupta introduced the car. The three-wheeler comes in three different configurations: tray deck, 170 cu. ft., and 140 cu. ft.
The car has the largest wheelbase in its class and a chassis made of boron steel. Front disc brakes, hill hold capability, reverse assist, and seat belt provisions are examples of safety equipment. Multiple driving modes and regenerative braking improve operational efficiency.
Two models have a 15-minute 100% charge time thanks to a collaboration with Exponent Energy. The charging solution is designed to help commercial operators make better use of their assets.
“The addition of the Montra Electric SUPER CARGO to our product portfolio marks an exciting new chapter of growth for us in the last-mile delivery segment,” stated Jalaj Gupta, Managing Director, TI Clean Mobility Private Limited. “Although we started out in the passenger three-wheeler market with SUPER AUTO and moved into first-mile logistics with our RHINO heavy trucks, we have always desired to enter the mid- and last-mile cargo market. We have already established ourselves in the mid-mile market with EVIATOR. We are now entering the very strategic last-mile delivery market with the introduction of the SUPER CARGO. Our duty as a Tru-EV brand extends beyond simply providing automobiles; it also includes facilitating a more efficient and clean future. We are pleased to use this to increase our visibility in various markets and support India’s transition to sustainable mobility.”
“Deep customer insights are used in the engineering of Montra Electric SUPER CARGO,” stated Roy Kurian, Business Head, Last Mile Mobility. It comes with special features, and B2B players will love the 15-minute full charge option. Both fleet operators and individual business owners can benefit from the Super Cargo’s many uses. Uptime is guaranteed throughout the country thanks to our growing dealer network.
“We are thrilled to collaborate with Montra Electric,” stated Arun Vinayak, co-founder of Exponent Energy. “Because of its potential to unlock higher asset utilisation, the market has embraced our 15-minute 100% charging solution. This strategic agreement with Montra Electric will help us advance the Clean Mobility agenda at a larger scale. In order to meet client needs and broaden our charging network throughout the cities where the brand operates, we will collaborate closely with them.”
The SUPER CARGO can be reserved in showrooms in more than 90 cities. Tray eCX, 140 cubic feet eCX d, and 170 cubic feet eCX d+ are the three cargo body options available for the vehicle. The quick charging feature is available on two other models: the 170 cubic foot eQX d+ and the Tray eQX. Indian Blue, Steel Grey, Stallion Brown, and Chilli Red are among the available colours.
