      Montra Electric delivers 5,000 Super Autos within a year of launch

      Montra Electric delivers 5,000 Super Autos within a year of launch

      The Murugappa Group company, Montra Electric has declared that, within a year of its launch and entry into the electric three-wheeler market, it will deliver its 5,000th three-wheeler passenger car (L5M category). The fastest-moving section of the Indian EV market is this one, with every second three-wheeler sold in the country currently being an emission-free model.

      These 5,000 Super Autos have been delivered by Montra Electric to clients in 74 marketplaces in 17 states in the course of the last 12 months. In the first seven months of CY2024, TI Green Mobility, the parent company of Montra Electric, recorded retail sales of 3,056 units. This is an impressive achievement considering that this particular EV industry subsegment has the highest number of over 500.

      Commenting on the milestone, Roy Kurian, Business Head, Montra Electric 3Ws, said: “We are proud to have achieved this significant milestone of delivering 5,000 Super Autos within a year of our launch.       The Montra Electric Super Auto counts on its differentiated road presence through design, spaciousness and impressive ARAI-certified range of 203km. The vehicle also introduced industry-first multi-drive modes for enhanced fuel efficiency and a Park Assist Mode for seamless manoeuvering in city traffic.

      In November 2023, the Montra Super Auto bagged the International Red Dot Design Award for 2023 in the ‘Design Concept’ category. The award was given under the ‘Innovative Last Mile Mobility Electric Passenger Vehicle’ category. The Montra Super Auto, which has a top speed of 55kph, 0-20kph in 4 seconds, and a seating capacity of four including the driver. It develops peak power of 10kW and torque of 60 Nm. The Super Auto is available in two variants – the ePV and ePV 2.0. The Montra Super Auto dimensions are: length (2855mm), width (1350mm) and height (1750mm).

      In an interesting development, Montra Electric has announced that it is gearing up to enter the three-wheeler goods segment.
