On August 13, 2025, Indian electric vehicle (EV) and auto component stocks witnessed a mixed trading session, with select counters posting notable gains while others faced mild losses.

HBL Engineering emerged as the day’s top gainer, soaring 10.32% to close at ₹763.40, reflecting strong investor confidence, possibly on the back of robust order inflows in the energy storage segment. Minda Corporation and UNO Minda also posted impressive gains of 4.14% and 4.21% respectively, supported by positive business developments in EV components and advanced mobility solutions.

Bharat Forge jumped 2.53% to ₹1,181.50, while Hero MotoCorp rose 2.66% to ₹4,768.70, likely buoyed by optimism over their expanding electric two-wheeler portfolios. Olectra Greentech, a major electric bus manufacturer, advanced 3.17% to ₹1,477.90, signalling continued momentum in public transport electrification.

Other notable gainers included Bharat Electronics (up 2.24%), Exicom Tele-Systems (up 2.06%), and Sona Comstar (up 1.94%), all of which are key suppliers in the EV value chain.

On the downside, Exide Industries dipped 0.19% to ₹375.70 despite being a leading EV battery supplier, while HEG fell 0.79% to ₹503. Amara Raja Energy & Mobility and Bosch registered marginal gains of 0.27% and 0.13% respectively.

Market activity suggested selective buying in high-growth EV component companies, while certain established players faced consolidation pressures. Analysts note that investor focus remains on firms showing clear EV-driven revenue growth and strong order books.

With India’s EV sector gaining policy support and private investment, the long-term outlook remains bullish, though short-term movements may continue to reflect stock-specific developments.
