MG Motor has announced pricing and key details for the new MG4 EV Urban, set to arrive in Australia from April
With a starting price of $31,990 driveaway, the MG4 EV Urban ranks among the most affordable EVs in the market, positioned above the BYD Atto 1 and priced lower than the BYD Dolphin once additional costs are included.
The Urban variant brings a more spacious and comfort-oriented design compared to the existing MG4. It will be available with two battery options: a 43kWh pack offering a claimed range of 316km, and a 54kWh version delivering up to 405km.
The entry variant produces 110kW and 250Nm, while the larger battery model generates 118kW. Both versions feature front-wheel drive and support 150kW DC fast charging, allowing a 10–80% recharge in around 30 minutes.
A highlight of the MG4 EV Urban is its new “6-in-1” electric drive system, which integrates multiple components into a compact setup, improving efficiency and freeing up additional cabin and storage space.
The hatchback offers 382 litres of boot space, expandable to 1266 litres, along with a 98-litre underfloor compartment. Key features include a 12.8-inch infotainment display with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, heated front seats, synthetic leather trim, and a comprehensive safety package.
The model will be available for test drives and bookings from April, and will also appear at the Melbourne Motor Show scheduled from April 10 to 12.
