MG Motor India has officially launched the Windsor EV Inspire Edition, a limited-edition variant of its best-selling Windsor electric vehicle. Priced at ₹16.65 lakh (ex-showroom), the special edition celebrates the Windsor EV’s successful first year in India, during which the model achieved over 40,000 units sold, reinforcing MG Motor’s position in the growing Indian electric vehicle market.

The launch event was held at the residence of Union Minister Nitin Gadkari in New Delhi, highlighting the government’s support for sustainable and clean mobility initiatives. Production of the Inspire Edition is limited to 300 units, emphasizing its exclusivity and premium appeal.

      Exterior and Interior Upgrades

The Windsor EV Inspire Edition features a dual-tone Pearl White and Starry Black exterior complemented by black alloy wheels and blacked-out ORVMs. Rose gold accents on the front grille, bumper corner protectors, and side claddings further enhance the vehicle’s aesthetic appeal.

Inside, the cabin features Sangria Red and Black leather upholstery with embroidered ‘Inspire’ headrests and gold detailing on the dashboard and center console. Premium accessories, including 3D floor mats, cushions, rear window sunshades, and a leather key cover, elevate the luxury experience. Optional features such as the Skylight Infinity View glass roof and wireless illuminated sill plates are available at MG dealerships.

      Performance and Specifications

The Inspire Edition is powered by a 38 kWh battery pack, delivering 134 bhp and 200 Nm of torque, and offers a claimed range of up to 331 km per charge. It supports DC fast charging, allowing the battery to reach 80% charge in approximately 40 minutes, catering to urban and long-distance commuters.

      Pricing and Battery Options

MG Motor offers the Inspire Edition under two pricing models:

Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS): ₹12.64 lakh (ex-showroom) plus ₹3.90/km for battery rental.

      • Full battery purchase: ₹16.65 lakh (ex-showroom).

      Availability

Bookings for the Windsor EV Inspire Edition are now open, with deliveries scheduled to begin on October 15, 2025. Given its limited production of 300 units, the edition is expected to attract early adopters and premium EV enthusiasts.

      Significance

The launch of the Windsor EV Inspire Edition underscores MG Motor India’s commitment to delivering premium, stylish, and sustainable electric vehicles to Indian customers. By combining advanced technology, aesthetic upgrades, and limited-edition exclusivity, MG Motor aims to strengthen its presence in India’s rapidly growing EV segment, appealing to environmentally conscious and luxury-focused buyers.
