In a major leap into the premium electric vehicle (EV) space, JSW MG Motor India has launched the MG Cyberster, India’s first all-electric roadster, priced at an introductory ₹72.49 lakh (ex-showroom) for pre-booked customers. For fresh bookings, the price is set at ₹74.99 lakh. Deliveries are scheduled to begin from August 10, 2025, through MG Select premium dealerships in 13 cities across India.

      High-Performance Powertrain with Long Range

The MG Cyberster is powered by a dual-motor all-wheel drive (AWD) setup delivering 510 bhp and 725 Nm of peak torque. This enables the EV to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds, making it the fastest MG model in India to date. The vehicle is equipped with an ultra-thin 77 kWh battery pack, offering a MIDC-certified range of 580 km. It supports 150 kW DC fast charging, capable of recharging the battery in about 38 minutes.

      Aerodynamic Design Meets Roadster Styling

Design highlights include scissor-style doors, a folding soft-top roof, a sleek aerodynamic profile with a drag coefficient of 0.269, and a Kammback-style rear design. The car rests on 20-inch staggered alloy wheels wrapped in in Pirelli P-Zero tires. Developed with insights from Formula 1 chassis engineer Marco Fainello, the car uses double wishbone suspension and has a 50:50 weight distribution for enhanced handling and cornering performance.

      Premium Interiors and Smart Tech

Inside, the MG Cyberster features a driver-centric triple-display cockpit that includes a 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen and dual 7-inch digital driver displays. A separate 7-inch console manages additional vehicle functions. The interior is finished with vegan leather and Dinamica suede, while other amenities include dual-zone climate control, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and a BOSE premium audio system.

Advanced features such as regenerative braking, multiple drive modes (Comfort, Sport, Custom, and Super Sport), and launch control are integrated to offer a dynamic driving experience.

      Safety & Assistance Systems

On the safety front, the Cyberster offers Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), Brembo four-piston brakes, and a real-time Driver Monitoring System. It boasts a Static Stability Factor of 1.83, ensuring excellent rollover protection. The EV can come to a complete stop from 100 km/h within 33 metres.

MG’s Strategic Shift Toward Premium EVs

The Cyberster will be retailed under MG Select, the company’s new sub-brand dedicated to premium and luxury electric vehicles. According to Anurag Mehrotra, Managing Director of JSW MG Motor India, the launch of Cyberster “marks a new era for MG in India, as we shift from being a value-focused brand to a design- and performance-led EV leader.”

The Cyberster is expected to redefine expectations in India’s growing EV segment, particularly among luxury buyers seeking high performance, advanced technology, and sustainable mobility.
