Mercedes-Benz has officially opened orders for the all-new electric GLC SUV, marking a major step in the company’s electrification strategy. The first model in the electric GLC lineup, the GLC 400 4MATIC, is now available for pre-order in Europe, with deliveries expected to begin in the coming months.

      Performance and Drivetrain

The GLC 400 4MATIC features a 360 kW (489 hp) electric drivetrain, delivering powerful acceleration and smooth performance. The SUV combines all-wheel drive capability with advanced torque management to ensure agility, stability, and driver confidence. In Germany, the starting price is €71,281, with private leasing options available from €475 per month, making this premium electric SUV more accessible to a broader audience.

      Advanced Technology

Mercedes-Benz equips the new GLC with the MB.OS supercomputer, enabling AI-driven features and over-the-air updates for continuous improvement. The MBUX Hyperscreen, a 39.1-inch curved display, provides an immersive digital cockpit experience. Externally, the GLC Electric introduces a redesigned illuminated grille and modern styling cues, setting the tone for the brand’s new electric design language.

      Interior Comfort and Practicality

The all-electric GLC offers enhanced interior space compared to its combustion-engine counterpart, with increased legroom and headroom for all passengers. Cargo capacity stands at 570 litres, expandable to 1,740 litres with rear seats folded, complemented by a 128-litre front trunk (frunk). The vehicle also supports a towing capacity of up to 2.4 tonnes, making it practical for a wide range of lifestyles.

      Charging and Convenience Features

The GLC supports the MB.CHARGE public service, allowing users to reserve charging stations in advance, enhancing convenience during long journeys. Rapid charging ensures quick top-ups, while standard features such as AIRMATIC air suspension and rear-axle steering provide a comfortable, agile driving experience.

      Availability and Future Expansion

Orders for the GLC 400 4MATIC are now open, with deliveries set to start soon. Mercedes-Benz plans to expand its electric SUV portfolio with four additional models, including two expected in 2026, reinforcing the company’s commitment to sustainable mobility and electrification.

      Conclusion

With the launch of the all-new electric GLC, Mercedes-Benz continues to strengthen its position in the luxury EV market, combining powerful performance, cutting-edge technology, and practical design. The GLC 400 4MATIC offers a compelling choice for drivers seeking premium electric SUVs in Europe.
