Mercedes-Benz Trucks has officially launched the eActros 400, a versatile addition to its all-electric truck lineup, designed to provide an optimal balance of payload capacity, range, and operational efficiency. The eActros 400 targets regional and heavy-duty logistics operations, offering a cost-effective and sustainable solution for businesses transitioning to electric transport.

      Key Specifications and Features

      • Battery Configuration: Equipped with two 207 kWh LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) battery packs, providing a total installed capacity of 414 kWh, ensuring long-lasting performance and reliability.

      • Electric Range: Delivers up to 480 kilometers on a single charge, making it suitable for long regional routes under standard load and temperature conditions.

      • Payload Capacity: Supports a maximum fifth-wheel load of 9.5 tons, enabling a total payload exceeding 25 tons with a standard semi-trailer.

      • Fast Charging: Compatible with CCS2 connectors for rapid charging up to 400 kW, achieving 10% to 80% battery charge in approximately 46 minutes.

      Design and Operational Flexibility

      • Cab Options: Available in the L-cab for lower entry and the ProCabin with aerodynamic optimization for driver comfort and enhanced visibility.

      • Chassis Variants: Offers multiple wheelbase lengths and 4×2 or 6×2 axle configurations to accommodate different body types and operational requirements.

      • Production and Availability: Orders commence October 2025 for EU30 markets and select non-EU regions, with production at Wörth am Rhein plant.

      Technological Advancements

      • Electric Drive Axle: Provides 400 kW continuous output and 600 kW peak output, ensuring strong performance for demanding tasks.

      • Battery Efficiency: LFP batteries deliver over 95% usable capacity, longer lifespan, and superior energy efficiency.

      • 800V Onboard System: Facilitates rapid charging and efficient power distribution across the vehicle.

      • Safety and Driver Support: Features Multimedia Cockpit Interactive 2, advanced driver assistance systems, and enhanced safety technologies.

      Strategic Significance

The eActros 400 complements the existing eActros 600, expanding Mercedes-Benz Trucks’ electric portfolio to meet diverse logistics and distribution needs. This model provides a cost-effective entry point for electric heavy-duty vehicles, accelerating the transition to zero-emission transport across Europe.

Achim Puchert, CEO of Mercedes-Benz Trucks, commented:

“The transformation to electric transport requires not only advanced vehicles but also extensive charging infrastructure. The eActros 400 offers a profitable, sustainable solution for our customers while supporting the broader shift toward zero-emission logistics.”

      Conclusion

With the launch of the eActros 400, Mercedes-Benz Trucks reinforces its commitment to sustainable, reliable, and high-performance electric transport solutions. Designed for regional haulage and heavy-duty logistics, this truck combines advanced battery technology, versatile configurations, and fast-charging capabilities, making it an essential step in the electrification of commercial transport.
