Mercedes-Benz India will reveal prices for the EQS Maybach electric SUV on September 5. The EQS Maybach SUV, which debuted in China last year, will join the Mercedes-Maybach GLS SUV in the brand’s India lineup. It is the brand’s worldwide flagship electric SUV, and to set it apart from the basic EQS SUV, it receives Maybach-specific style, feature, and technology enhancements.

The Maybach EQS SUV has chrome accents on the outside and an abundance of Maybach emblems all throughout, similar to the facelifted Mercedes-Maybach GLS that just went on sale in India. It features a sealed-off black panel at the front that resembles a grille – this huge panel actually houses radar sensors for ADAS – and vertical chrome bars that give it a 3D appearance. The upper half of the false grille, like previous Maybach models, features chrome writing that reads “Maybach”.

On the sides, the Maybach EQS SUV gets more chrome on the window line and B-pillar, and an additional Maybach logo on the D-pillar. It also gets “EQS” embossed on the window frame, similar to the standard EQS SUV. Wheel and tyre choices include 21- or 22-inch alloy and forged wheels with Maybach lettering. It also gets factory-fitted illuminated running boards finished in anodised aluminium.

The Maybach EQS SUV’s dashboard is similar to the regular EQS SUV – it gets three different screens that come with Maybach-specific graphics. The numerous exclusive features on the screens include the animated display of the instrument cluster in Maybach mode.

The rear seat entertainment package comprises two 11.6-inch displays on the front seatbacks. It also comes with the MBUX tablet at the rear, which can also be used outside the vehicle.

While the Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV gets two electric powertrain options abroad, India will only get the top-spec 680 variant. It gets the 4Matic AWD tech as standard, and has up to 658hp and 950Nm of total output. The 680 has a range of up to 600km (WLTP), 0-100kph comes up in a claimed 4.4 seconds, and it has a top speed of 210kph. Overseas, the Maybach EQS also comes in 580 4Matic form, with a power output of 544hp and a range of up to 456km. Expect more details on the Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV to be revealed closer to its launch.
