      MCV unveils new C127 EV bus with 497 kWh battery at BUS2BUS 2026

      MCV has introduced its next-generation C127 electric city bus at the BUS2BUS 2026 exhibition, showcasing major upgrades in battery capacity, vehicle architecture, and passenger accessibility.

      The launch took place at Hub 27 in Berlin, where the company presented both battery-electric and hydrogen fuel cell variants.

      Upgraded battery-electric platform

      The new C127 EV features a redesigned power system, including:

      • 497 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack
      • 12 battery modules (higher capacity than previous version)
      • CCS2 charging support up to 150 kW
      • Shift from NMC to LFP battery chemistry

      Powertrain and system improvements

      The updated model includes several technical enhancements:

      • Peak motor output of 410 kW
      • New drivetrain system supplied by Driventic
      • Updated digital cockpit and dashboard system
      • Electric power steering and electronic handbrake
      • CO₂-based heat pump for thermal management

      Easy Bus accessibility design

      The interior layout has been redesigned to improve passenger flow and accessibility:

      • Dedicated spaces for passengers with reduced mobility
      • Floor guidance markings for boarding assistance
      • Fold-out ramps at both doors
      • Optimized seating layout for easier movement

      Hydrogen variant wins award

      MCV also showcased its hydrogen fuel cell bus C127 FC LE, which received the Busplaner Sustainability Award 2026 in the hydrogen category.

      Key features include:

      • 100 kW fuel cell system
      • 117 kWh battery
      • Approximately 40 kg hydrogen storage capacity
