      Mahindra Research Valley announces expansion of its Advanced Research & Development Centre and Testing Facilities

      Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (M&M) announced the expansion of its Advanced Research and Development Centre and additional testing facilities at Mahindra Research Valley (MRV) in Chennai. This marks a significant step in its allegiance towards enhancing R&D and focusing on Make In India. The commitment of fresh investments at this facility will strengthen Mahindra’s engineering and testing capabilities in the region and it will reinforce Chennai’s role as a strategic hub for research and innovation.

      Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Mr. M. K. Stalin, along with the Minister for Industries, Investment Promotions and Commerce, Mr. T. R. B. Rajaa graced the ground-breaking ceremony held in Chennai

      today. The facility will be up and running within this calendar year.

      Mahindra is committing an investment of approx. ₹196 crore for this expansion, which is aimed at augmenting MRVs capabilities to support advanced vehicle design, product engineering and future technology developments. The Advanced Research & Development Centre and new testing infrastructure are expected to provide enhanced capabilities for next-generation platforms across multiple vehicle segments.

      Once fully operational, the expanded facility is projected to create additional employment opportunities for around 2,000 professionals, spanning engineering, research and associated technical roles. MRV currently employs 5000 skilled professionals at its 125-acre campus.

      Speaking at the event, Mr. R Velusamy, President, Automotive Business said, “This expansion underscores our long-term commitment to advancing product engineering capabilities in India, enhancing global competitiveness, and leveraging cutting-edge technology to deliver superior products to customers worldwide. Supported by Tamil Nadu’ s robust Industrial ecosystem and talent base, MRV will continue to serve as Mahindra’s global hub for innovation, excellence in engineering & future-ready mobility Solutions.”
