Mahindra has confirmed that its next electric vehicle will arrive in 2027, slightly delayed from its earlier planned launch in October 2026. The upcoming model will be the production version of the BE.07 concept showcased in August 2022, internally referred to as B07.
BE.07: What to Expect
The BE.07 will be larger than the BE 6, measuring around 4.6 metres in length, and will sit above the BE 6 in Mahindra’s electric SUV lineup. It will use the INGLO platform, with battery options ranging between 60 kWh and 80 kWh, and is expected to target the Tata Harrier EV and Vinfast VF7.
The production model will retain design cues from Mahindra’s existing EVs, including edgy lighting signatures, while offering a more conservative overall design compared to the radical BE 6 and XEV 9e. The interior is expected to feature a tech-heavy layout with triple screens, though physical controls may be incorporated based on customer feedback.
Volume Expectations
Rajesh Jejurikar, Executive Director and CEO of Mahindra, said, “We believe the BE.07 will be a very big volume driver on top of what we are doing with our current three products.” Currently, Mahindra averages 4,000 EV sales per month, with plans to increase sales to 6,000–7,000 units over the year.
2026 Plans
Mahindra has no new EV launches scheduled for 2026. The company will focus on refreshes for two internal combustion engine (ICE) models, including a mid-cycle facelift for the Scorpio N, and is expected to update the Thar range, though details remain scarce.
The BE.07 will be Mahindra’s fourth born-electric vehicle, following the XEV 9e, BE 6, and XEV 9S, and is expected to play a pivotal role in the company’s EV strategy in India.
