Recognized for its initiatives, Mahavitaran has been honored for its top contribution to the growth of the charging infrastructure at the ‘EV Charge India 2023’ conference on electric vehicles, held in New Delhi.

MahavitaranPrasad Reshme, the director of Mahavitaran, accepted the honour.

Mahavitaran’s chairman and managing director Vijay Singhal expressed gratitude to the company’s officials and staff for this accomplishment.

Prasad Reshme accepted the award on behalf of Mahavitaran at the hand of General Secretary of Society of Manufacturers of Electric Vehicles (SMEV) Ajay Sharma.

Prasad Reshme, who received the honour, noted that Mahavitran has excelled at electric vehicle charging thanks to the direction of Vijay Singhal and Deputy Chief Minister and Energy Minister Devendra Fadnavis.

Mahavitaran has been given responsibility as the nodal agency of the state for setting up infrastructure for electric vehicle charging in the state. A total of 3214 charging stations have been set up in the state under the initiative of Mahavitran.

Mahavitaran has set up its own 62 electric vehicle charging stations in the state. These stations have been set up in Nashik, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Solapur, Kolhapur, Amravati and Sangli along with 23 in Pune, 11 in Thane, 12 in Navi Mumbai, 6 in Nagpur.

The number of vehicles charging at these stations has been steadily increasing since last September.

Mahavitaran has launched a separate website for prospects who are willing to set up a station for charging electric vehicles.

Also, by using Mahavitran’s Powerup EV application, motorists can find their nearest charging station and use this mobile app for vehicle charging.

Mahavitaran or Mahadiscom or MSEDCL is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Maharashtra State Electricity Board. It is the largest electricity distribution utility in India.
