Intercity sleeper bus service LeafyBus has launched #CareOnboard, a Women’s Day-led initiative that introduces complimentary sanitary kits for women passengers
travelling on all LeafyBus sleeper routes. Starting this week, the kits will be made available onboard across LeafyBus buses operating on key intercity corridors, enabling women travellers to access essential hygiene products during long-distance journeys. The campaign has been introduced to address real travel situations where women may require immediate hygiene support, ensuring a more thoughtful and comfortable travel experience.
Timed around International Women’s Day, the initiative functions as a passenger-first care gesture, reflecting LeafyBus’ effort to build more inclusive travel infrastructure for women. Long-distance journeys can sometimes present unexpected hygiene needs, and through #CareOnboard, the company aims to ensure women passengers have discreet access to essential personal care items without inconvenience during travel.
As part of the campaign, compact pocket-sized hygiene kits will be placed onboard LeafyBus sleeper buses. The kits are designed to be easy to carry, discreet to use, and accessible whenever required during the journey. Each kit includes sanitary pads, tissue paper, hand sanitiser, and face wipes, addressing essential hygiene requirements that can arise during overnight or long-distance travel.
The campaign is inspired by passenger insights and the growing number of women travelling independently for work, education, and leisure across intercity routes. With bus travel becoming an increasingly preferred option due to affordability and convenience, initiatives like these aim to make the experience more considerate and responsive to women’s needs.
Commenting on the initiative, Rohan Dewan, Founder, LeafyBus, said: “Long-distance travel often comes with situations passengers cannot always anticipate. With #CareOnboard, we wanted to introduce a small but meaningful solution that ensures women travellers have access to essential hygiene products during their journey. For us, passenger comfort is not just about seats and amenities, it is also about understanding real travel needs and responding with thoughtful measures. Initiatives like this reflect our commitment to making intercity travel more comfortable, inclusive, and considerate for women passengers.”
Through initiatives such as #CareOnboard, LeafyBus continues to strengthen its passenger-first approach to service design, introducing practical improvements that enhance comfort and convenience for travellers on long-distance routes.
