LeafyBus sets new benchmark with using India’s first 360 KW fast-charging infrastructure. With operational expertise, tech solutions and the high capacity charger Leafybus operates three daily trips between the Delhi – Dehradun route clocking 900 kms in 24 hours. This development is a major step forward in addressing the critical need for robust charging infrastructure to support long-distance electric vehicle travel in India and also defines how to create viability in terms of unit economics with high-cost electric buses.

LeafyBus has partnered with EV charging infrastructure provider GLIDA India, known as Fortum Charge & Drive India to roll out India’s first Commercial 360 KW fast-charging infrastructure. Currently, LeafyBus is the only electric bus operator in India to achieve this remarkable feat, using the 360 KW charger to reduce charging time to under 50 minutes. This technology allows the buses to maintain high operational efficiency, with each bus covering multiple routes per day while reducing downtime.

In addition to operational improvements, LeafyBus has also focused on safety and passenger comfort. Each bus is equipped with CCTV surveillance, real-time tracking, Driver Monitoring Systems (DMS), and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). The fleet offers a premium AC experience while prioritizing women’s safety and an on-time guarantee, ensuring that passengers enjoy a secure and comfortable journey.

Rohan Dewan, Co-Founder and CEO of LeafyBus, said, “We are proud to be the first to utilise the vehicle 900 kms per day with our electric buses. By enabling a 360a KW fast charger, we have solved one of the key challenges of electric mobility charging time. Our Delhi-Dehradun route is a great example of how electric vehicles can offer a sustainable, efficient alternative to traditional fuel-based transport.” He added, “This will help us expand our services and support the transition to sustainable transportation in India. We are excited about the future, and with the 360 KW charging infrastructure, we are ready to scale and bring electric travel to more cities, further reducing our carbon footprint and promoting a cleaner environment.”LeafyBus recently partnered with JBM Electric Vehicles to acquire 200 electric buses. Additionally, LeafyBus has teamed up with AMU [NBFC] to finance the first 10 EV buses for inter-city operations.
