Since the sports car market niche is not yet ready for complete electrification, Lamborghini plans to launch its first electric model in 2029, CEO Stephan Winkelmann stated.

Volkswagen subsidiary Lamborghini has previously stated that its first electric vehicle would be ready in 2028. In the first quarter of next year, rival Italian automaker Ferrari will introduce its first electric vehicle.

In 2023, Lamborghini unveiled the Lanzador EV, the company’s first electric vehicle worldwide. Two electric motors, one on each axle, are installed on the Lanzador. According to the business, the aggregate output of these motors exceeds one megawatt. Additionally, the Lanzador has active aerodynamics. When used in various driving modes, this is used in the front and back to maximize aerodynamic efficiency.

Other characteristics of the Lanzador EV include an active air suspension system for improved ride comfort and a rear-axle steering wheel that reduces wheelbase and makes a U-turn.

The Lamborghini Lanzador’s interior features a svelte control panel. Regenerated carbon fiber and merino wool are used inside this electric SUV. According to the corporation, it supports Lamborghini’s sustainability initiative. Additionally, the Lamborghini Lanzador EV’s sports seats are composed of recyclable fibers that have been 3D printed.

For better aerodynamics, the Lamborghini Lanzador EV’s bodywork features angular cuts and creases. The headlamps on the front have a streamlined appearance. It has a sloping roofline at the side, which gives it a coupe-like appearance. For better aerodynamics, the Lanzador EV’s rear profile features a large diffuser treatment.
