By adding these new locations, Lakeland Holding Ltd. will increase its network to a total of 33 EV charging stations across Ontario by autumn 2026.
In an official announcement on LinkedIn, Lakeland commented on its expansion both in Ontario and across Canada: “Our 180kW fast chargers can add approximately 100 km of range in just 10 minutes, and this year we are adding 240kW chargers to our network of charging locations.”
In Lakeland’s statement, it announced its transition from time-based to energy-based pricing on their Level 3 Fast Chargers. Going forward, Lakeland customers will be paying for the energy that they use rather than the time spent charging.
The company clarified that this move has been approved by Measurement Canada – a regulatory agency under the Canadian government – with the intention of providing “fair” and “transparent” pay per kWh for EV drivers.
Lakeland has also moved towards a credit card-based “tap & go” system, stating that they are currently in the process of installing credit card readers on their 180kW Level 3 Fast Chargers.
This news comes alongside the announcement of the new 180kW DCFC in Ontario, likely indicating further conveniences for EV drivers in the province.
