Kia’s upcoming Syros EV has been spotted at a charging station in India, signalling its near-market debut in the country’s fast-growing electric vehicle (EV) segment. The test run suggests Kia is in the final stages of development, with an official launch expected in early 2026.
The Syros EV, positioned as a compact electric SUV, is expected to deliver a driving range of 350–450 km per charge, supported by fast-charging capabilities. This makes it a practical choice for urban and intercity commuters.
Industry sources suggest the expected price range will fall between ₹15 and 20 lakh, making it a strong rival to the Tata Nexon EV, MG ZS EV, Hyundai Kona Electric, and Mahindra XUV400. The model is likely to be offered with multiple variants, balancing affordability and premium features.
The spotted test unit featured minimal camouflage, indicating that the design is close to production-ready. Kia is expected to reveal official specifications later this year, ahead of a market rollout in 2026.
With this launch, Kia aims to strengthen its EV lineup in India, supported by expanding charging infrastructure and government incentives. The Syros EV could play a crucial role in boosting EV adoption in one of the world’s most promising markets for sustainable mobility.
