In a major boost to India’s electric mobility ecosystem, Kazam, one of the country’s leading EV energy solutions providers, has partnered with Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) to enhance EV charging accessibility across the nation. Through this collaboration, over 5,350 HPCL EV chargers, including 3,043 DC fast chargers, have been seamlessly integrated into the Kazam app via its OCPI (Open Charge Point Interface)-powered platform.
The integration allows electric vehicle users to locate, navigate, and access HPCL’s nationwide charging network in real time, ensuring convenient and reliable charging options across highways, major cities, and HPCL’s extensive network of over 24,000 fuel retail outlets. This partnership also supports the Government of India’s PM eDrive scheme, emphasizing a national commitment toward decarbonizing transport and promoting clean mobility.
Paras Shah, Chief Operating Officer of Kazam, commented on the collaboration, saying,
“Kazam’s OCPI platform ensures seamless aggregation and real-time visibility of HPCL chargers, enabling EV users to discover, navigate, and charge at HPCL stations effortlessly. This partnership strengthens India’s public EV charging ecosystem and accelerates the country’s transition toward sustainable mobility.”
Echoing similar sentiments, Kushal Kumar Banerjee, Chief General Manager at HPCL, stated,
“Partnering with Kazam is a strategic step in expanding India’s EV charging infrastructure. With Kazam’s technology, we are offering EV users greater accessibility, reliability, and convenience. This partnership aligns with HPCL’s commitment to reducing carbon emissions, supporting the PM eDrive initiative, and driving the adoption of sustainable mobility solutions across India.”
Beyond enhancing user accessibility, Kazam’s OCPI-enabled platform provides interoperability across multiple charging networks and advanced backend monitoring tools for charge point operators (CPOs) and e-mobility service providers (eMSPs). These capabilities ensure real-time operational efficiency, scalability, and seamless integration across India’s growing EV ecosystem.
By combining HPCL’s vast infrastructure with Kazam’s advanced digital platform, the collaboration marks a transformative step in India’s journey toward green mobility, supporting the nation’s vision of a cleaner, smarter, and more sustainable transportation future.
