Jupiter Electric Mobility Private Limited (JEM), a subsidiary of Jupiter Waggons Limited, has reached a critical milestone by receiving permission from The Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) for its unique battery-powered light commercial vehicles. The certification, issued under Certificate No. AATB 0182, confirms conformity with the Central Motor Vehicles Rules, clearing the road for commercial manufacture of the JEM TEZ.

JEM aims to revolutionize the market by introducing the first 1-ton commercial electric vehicle (EV), designed under the brand name JEM TEZ. This vehicle boasts cutting-edge fast charging technology, capable of charging from 0% to 100% in approximately 20 minutes at combined charging stations, setting a new industry standard for charging time. Additionally, the onboard charger facilitates a full charge in less than 2 hours, with a certified range of 127 kilometers.

The JEM TEZ comes equipped with Telematics for real-time monitoring of vehicle health and performance, ensuring efficient maintenance and support. Mr. Vivek Lohia, Managing Director of Jupiter Wagons Limited, expressed his enthusiasm for the approval, highlighting the company’s commitment to innovation and excellence in the electric mobility sector.

Mr. Gaurav Jalota, Chief Executive Officer of Jupiter Electric Mobility Pvt. Ltd., emphasized the company’s focus on delivering high-quality and high-performance EVs to support India’s goals of reducing pollution and emissions.

With manufacturing facilities in Jabalpur, Indore, and Kolkata, spanning over 200 acres, JEM is positioned to lead the market with its tech-enabled processes and skilled workforce. The company plans to expand its electric vehicle offerings in the future, including Medium Commercial Vehicles (MCV), Heavy Commercial Vehicles (HCV), and buses.

The production of JEM TEZ is set to commence shortly, marking Jupiter Electric Mobility Pvt. Ltd. as pioneers in driving positive environmental change and promoting the adoption of electric vehicles in India.
