In a significant move to reshape India’s mobility landscape, JSW Motors has joined forces with KPIT Technologies to advance the development of electric and hybrid vehicles. The strategic partnership will combine JSW Motors’ ambitions in the new energy vehicle (NEV) space with KPIT’s deep expertise in automotive software and systems.
KPIT Technologies, a global leader in mobility tech with experience in over 2,000 vehicle programmes—including several Software Defined Vehicle (SDV) projects—will spearhead the development of next-generation software platforms and electric propulsion systems for JSW Motors. To support this collaboration, KPIT will also set up a dedicated Centre of Excellence for JSW Motors, signalling its deepening commitment to the Indian automotive sector.
JSW Motors, a new division under the JSW Group, has announced a substantial investment of US$3 billion over the next five years. The funds will go toward the design, development, and production of electric, hybrid, and plug-in hybrid vehicles. The company’s first NEV is expected to roll out in the second half of FY2026. To enable this, a sprawling 630-acre integrated automotive hub is currently under construction in Bidkin, Maharashtra.
“This partnership reflects our strategic focus on India and our commitment to delivering cutting-edge technologies that elevate customer experiences and drive clean mobility,” said Kishor Patil, CEO & MD of KPIT Technologies.
Ranjan Nayak, CEO of JSW Motors, added, “We aim to build world-class vehicles in India by integrating global technologies. KPIT’s expertise is a cornerstone in delivering high-performance, sustainable automotive solutions.”
The alliance is expected to accelerate India’s transition to cleaner transport solutions while setting new industry benchmarks for innovation, sustainability, and customer satisfaction.
