One hundred units of the recently introduced MG Windsor electric vehicle (EV) have been delivered to Hyderabad by SW MG Motor India. The carmaker’s RAAM MG dealership sold the well-liked crossover utility vehicle (CUV) retail.

When Windsor first launched in India in September, it received 15,176 reservations in just one day. With 3,116 units sold in October, it also became the best-selling electric vehicle in India, accounting for nearly 30% of all sales of electric vehicles in the nation during that month.

The Telangana government’s new EV legislation helped the Windsor’s respectable sales in Hyderabad. For the first two years, till December 31, 2026, the state government will exclude all EVs bought and registered in Telangana from road taxes under the Telangana Electric Vehicle & Energy Storage Policy 2020–2030. Electric two-wheelers, four-wheelers, and commercial vehicles will all be excluded under the government decree.

The MG Windsor is available in three variants: Excite, Exclusive, and Essence. The pricing for each variant is as follows: the Excite variant is priced at Rs 13.50 lakh, the Exclusive at Rs 14.50 lakh, and the Essence at Rs 15.50 lakh, all ex-showroom.

The new EV is equipped with an IP67-rated 38kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery and a permanent magnet synchronous motor. The motor can produce a maximum power of 136 PS and a maximum torque of 200 Nm. 332 kilometers is the ARAI-certified range on a single full charge. Eco+, Eco, Normal, and Sport are the four driving modes available on the vehicle.
