The Role:
We are seeking an System Requirement Engineer to join our team abe be responsible for the technical coordination of all customer Diagnostic topics of our E/E Systems. This role can be based in the office or remotely with time in the engineering lab when required.
Key responsibilities include:
- Provide and document design recommendations in requirements for all Diagnostic topics on E/E system level, e.g.
- Mapping of Fault mechanisms to DTCs
- Criteria for Diagnostic Trouble Codes
- Criteria for Routine identifier including functional requirements
- Criteria for Data Identifiers and Snapshots
- Coordinate customer diagnostic relevant requirements with project stakeholders (Software, Hardware, Customer, Function Control, E/E System)
- Prepare and Conduct Reviews of Diagnostics specification(s) and documentation
- Central Contact person for Diagnostic relevant E/E system topics. Interface for all relevant project Stakeholders
- Support the E/E System Architect in internal and customer discussions with regards to Diagnostics related topics
- Prepare customer specific documentation and specification according customer needs
- Develops service procedures according customer needs that are used by Dealer Technicians to set-up, maintain, and repair the E/E System parts of GKN products (Serviceability concept)
Who you’ll be:
To be successful in this position, you will have proven experience developing and embedding Software within the Automotive industry or a related environment. Experience working with AUTOSAR and awareness of software and system communication protocols and diagnostics along with programs such as C would be an advantage.
Specific Functional Capabilities, Knowledge and Skills Required
Essential
- Degree in electrical engineering or similar
- Strong relevant experience within the field
- Profound knowledge of diagnostic protocols and standards (e.g. OBD, UDS, KWP 2000)
- Knowledge of automotive communications protocols (e.g. CAN, FlexRay, Automotive Ethernet)
- Good common understanding of Diagnostic Architecture
- Experience in the definition of automotive customer diagnostics
- Experience in customer communication (in writing and speaking)
- Knowledge and experience in the tool PTC Integrity
- Good communication skills, teamwork skills and organisational talent
- Hands-on mentality, Be self-employed and proactive
- Good skills in writing and speaking English
- Willingness to provide on-site support in our development centre in Germany
