The Role:
We are seeking an Functional Safety Engineer to support the GKN AWD/eDrive engineering teams within implementation of Automotive Functional Safety according to ISO26262..
Key responsibilities include:
- Responsible for development of Technical Safety Concepts for our AWD and eDrive systems up to ASIL D
- Gathering and reviewing system safety requirements from customer and other stakeholders (internal/external)
- Alignment of Technical Safety Concepts with project team (System, Hardware and Software), supplier and production sites
- Verification of Technical Safety Concepts by means of safety analysis (FTA, DFA, FMEA)
- Specification of verification and validation criteria up to ASIL D in close collaboration with GKN test department
- Providing ISO26262 compliant documentation of safety relevant work products
- Working closely with and under lead of project safety manger to achieve complete product safety case
Who you’ll be:
To be successful in this position, you will have proven experience in implementation of automotive functional safety
Specific Functional Capabilities, Knowledge and Skills Required
Essential
- Engineering degree in Engineering (Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics) or similar
- Experience within development of Technical Safety Concepts for safety relevant automotive systems
- Profound knowledge of Functional Safety standard ISO26262(2018) and Automotive SPICE is mandatory
- Personal certification within ISO262626 (e.g. AFSP) is of benefit
- Proven experience within application of safety analysis methods (especially FTA/DFA)
- Solution oriented way of working and keep on track even in critical situations
- Good English language skills in reading & writing (German language is of benefit)
