Role of Customer Account Manager – Front line contact position responsible for sales, business development and key account management activities of West customer accounts as stated above that constitutes ~20% of GKN India volumes/ Revenues for GKN India.
Key Responsibilities
- New Business Development – Pre-RFQ Engagement with customer engg, PUR and Devp, RFQ Generation/management of quote process/Quote preparations (break ups/walks/negotiations)
- Strong pre RFQ engagement with customers for competitive insights and landscape (products, pricing, development, sourcing etc) to enable GKN offer compeititve proposals to customers .
- Maintain / Improve profitability – current as well as new business.
- Budget Preparation, mid & long range Planning (4YP), Demand Planning based on customer and market inputs.
- Support development and execution of Customer Business Strategy.
- High level of understanding on customers – vehicle cycle plans, market position, growth strategies, sourcing enablers, technology requirements, competitor activities etc – to develop and align GKN strategies.
- Periodic visits and engagements to develop customer intimacies for long term strategic partnership.
- Support / Lead – VAVE’s, ECN’s, resourcing activities to ensure cost competitiveness and profitability .
- Adheres to GKN Health, Safety & Environment guidelines.
- Support plant functions on issues related to supply chain, overdues, quality concerns etc .
- Maintains and develops costing databases, supports internal & external MIS requirements.
- Well versed / exposure to – 1) global key account management WOW 2) basic understanding on business profitability determination metrics.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor of Engineering (MBA options) with 8-12 years of work experience in Auto component industry preferably the tier 1 system suppliers
