JBM Electric Vehicles debuted its ECOLIFE all-electric city bus at the UITP Summit 2025 in Hamburg, initiating its entry into the European market with a new headquarters in Frankfurt and a German leasing partnership.
At the UITP Global Public Transport Summit 2025 in Hamburg, JBM Electric Vehicles (JBM EV), a division of the $3 billion Indian conglomerate JBM Group, made its formal debut in the European market with the introduction of its ECOLIFE electric city bus. Vice Chairman of the JBM Group Nishant Arya led the ceremony.
The ECOLIFE electric bus allows ultra-fast charging and has a 400-kilometre driving range on a single charge. For urban public transportation, it has a permanent magnet synchronous motor, modular battery packs, and a lightweight stainless steel shell. Advanced telematics, a regenerative braking system, and recycled-material interiors are further features.
“Frankfurt, Germany, is now home to JBM EV’s European headquarters. Sales, marketing, after-sales services, and strategic alliances will all be managed by one hub.” Daniel Frade, Director of Sales, Marketing & Aftersales – Europe, is spearheading these initiatives.
JBM EV has teamed up with German leasing company KazenMaier as part of its market entry strategy to help deploy over 100 electric buses in Germany. Through integrated services that include cars, charging infrastructure, and finance, the partnership seeks to provide sustainable public transportation options.
Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (ADAS), lane departure and collision warnings, blind spot recognition, fire detection and suppression systems, intelligent speed assistance, and other safety features are all included in the ECOLIFE bus.
JBM also demonstrated their E-Verse ecosystem at the UITP Summit, which consists of proprietary rapid charging, battery technology, and service network solutions. Over 11,000 electric buses have been deployed or are currently being built worldwide, according to the business, which also runs one of the biggest specialised electric bus manufacturing plants outside of China, in India.
Over 165 million electric kilometres have been driven by JBM EV thus far, carrying over 1 billion passengers. In the coming years, the company hopes to reach 3 billion kilometres and 10 billion passengers. A number of UN Sustainable Development Goals pertaining to urban infrastructure, health, and climate action are in line with the company’s activities.
