JBM Auto Ltd.’s wholly-owned subsidiary, JBM Electric Vehicles, has forged a strategic partnership with Hitachi ZeroCarbon. The joint venture aims to install Hitachi’s advanced ZeroCarbon BatteryManager in JBM’s fleet of electric buses.

Indian electric bus industry will stand to gain from unprecedented technology potential introduced through this innovative alliance. With real-time battery insight integrated, deployment of cost-effective and eco-friendly urban transportation options will be enabled through actionable insights regarding charging behaviors, route efficiency, and asset utilization.

Through the assessment of battery performance in a range of conditions, the partnership will enhance EV infrastructure robustness and quality.

“Through our focus on safety, comfort, affordability, and innovation, we are setting the pace for zero-emission public transport across the globe,” said Nishant Arya, vice-chairman and managing director, JBM Auto Ltd. Our association with Hitachi ZeroCarbon will enhance the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) for fleet operators worldwide by actively enhancing battery performance and maximizing residual battery value across a range of climatic conditions.”

Also, Hitachi ZeroCarbon CEO Ram Ramachander added, “Our BatteryManager solution hits a milestone with this project. The dynamic Indian market offers the ideal setting for understanding how EV assets respond to operational constraints. Our shared ambitions with JBM are to push forward sustainable fleet electrification and maximize battery value.”
