JBM Electric Vehicles (JBM EV), a subsidiary of the $3.3 billion JBM Group, introduced its latest all-electric city bus, the ECOLIFE e12, at Busworld 2025 in Brussels. This launch was led by Nishant Arya, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of JBM Group. It marked another important step in the company’s effort to support clean and connected public transport.
The ECOLIFE e12 is built for city transport. It offers an impressive range of up to 400 km on a single charge and allows for ultra-fast charging. Built with a lightweight stainless-steel monocoque body, the bus integrates Intelligent Transport Systems compliant with EU norms, advanced telematics, and JBM’s proprietary Advanced Driver-Assistance System (ADAS).
Regarding safety, the ECOLIFE e12 includes forward collision warnings, lane departure alerts, blind spot monitoring, alcohol interlock readiness, driver fatigue detection, and cybersecurity measures. It also has a fire suppression system. Such characteristics demonstrate that JBM’s objective is to create a public transit system that is safer, smarter, and more efficient.
The ECOLIFE e12 embodies the focus on design and sustainability by using recyclable materials, primarily in the interior and seating, in line with circular economy principles. Nishant Arya indicates that the ECOLIFE e12 represents progress in public transportation carbon reductions and in quality of life through sustainable mobility.
To expand its international presence, JBM has opened its European headquarters located in Frankfurt, Germany, from which the team will act as a service and support marketplace for marketing and aftersales support and to facilitate operations and partnerships throughout Europe. The establishment of JBM’s European headquarters reflects continued investment with a strong commitment toward building a sustainable approach in Europe.
With over 11,000 electric buses deployed or under execution worldwide, JBM operates the world’s largest integrated EV bus manufacturing facility outside China, located in India with a capacity of 20,000 units per year. In the past five years, JBM’s electric buses have collectively logged over 200 million e-kilometres, serving one billion passengers and reducing carbon emissions by over one billion kilograms.
At Busworld 2025, JBM also presented its lithium-ion battery solutions and the E-Verse platform, a fully integrated ecosystem of EV charging, power infrastructure, and connected mobility.
JBM has maintained its position of establishing forward-thinking solutions for sustainable urban transportation using its lithium ion battery solutions while continuing to solidify its position in global electric mobility markets via the ECOLIFE e12.
