Strategic alliance brings together Motovolt’s high-utility electric scooter with Indofast’s battery-swapping network, advancing EV accessibility and affordability

Motovolt Mobility, a pioneer in e-mobility, has teamed up with Indofast Energy, a 50:50 joint venture between Indian Oil Corporation and SUN Mobility. This strategic partnership eliminates range anxiety, battery issues, and hefty upfront costs by combining Motovolt’s multi-utility MVS7 electric scooter with Indofast’s extensive battery-swapping network. For commuters and businesses nationwide, the partnership represents a major step towards the adoption of EVs that are affordable, practical, and worry-free.

For far too long, the journey to electric mobility has been hampered by concerns over range anxiety, limited charging infrastructure, and the high upfront cost of batteries. This alliance directly confronts these challenges, offering a compelling solution that empowers both individual commuters and businesses. By decoupling the battery cost from the vehicle purchase through BaaS (Battery As A Service), Motovolt’s high-quality, agile MVS7 electric scooter becomes significantly more affordable, making EV ownership a tangible reality for millions.

“This is a paradigm shift for Indian e-mobility, not just a partnership,” stated Rajat Malhan, Senior Vice President at Indofast Energy. “By providing a solution that is both highly convenient and economically feasible, we are removing the largest obstacles to EV adoption. Motovolt MVS7 owners will benefit from unbroken travel and unmatched vehicle uptime thanks to our QIS battery swapping network, which will boost their financial success.

Motovolt’s MVS7, India’s first multi-utility e-scooter, is a testament to innovative design, built to tackle diverse urban needs. With a top speed of 50 km/hr, a robust 2.5 kW peak power BLDC motor delivering 120 Nm of torque, and a travel range of 80-85 km per charge, the MVS7 is engineered for performance and versatility. Its unique multi-functional, double-cradle steel frame, combined with 150 litres of open storage and a 150 kg payload capacity, positions it as an ideal companion for both personal commuting and last-mile logistics. The scooter features five riding modes (Eco, Power, Sport, Reverse, Cruise) and an IP65 display, ensuring a dynamic and informed riding experience.

“As a domestic OEM committed to transforming mobility, we are excited to join hands with Indofast as a step towards green mobility,” said Tushar Choudhary, founder and CEO of Motovolt Mobility. Since the beginning, we have concentrated on creating automobiles that are highly useful and beneficial to the customer. We are launching this partnership with the MVS7, our first multipurpose scooter. All things considered, this partnership will not only improve EV infrastructure and make use of a pay-per-use model, but it will also assist us in greatly improving the final customer experience as a more affordable and reliable substitute for conventional ICE vehicles.

This alliance is set to accelerate the transition to sustainable transportation across India. To support this ambitious vision, Motovolt is expanding its dealership network in key metropolitan areas, including Delhi NCR, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Chennai. Over the next 12 months, the partnership aims for significant market penetration, targeting the sale of approximately 20,000 units of the MVS7 in the B2B sector and 5,000 units in the B2C segment. This strategic initiative will not only enhance vehicle uptime and reduce the total cost of ownership but also offer a lifetime battery warranty for end-users, ensuring complete peace of mind.

This collaboration between Indofast Energy and Motovolt Mobility is a powerful declaration of intent: to make electric mobility affordable, reliable, and truly ubiquitous across India, one swappable battery and multi-utility scooter at a time.
