Indofast Energy, a leading provider of battery-swapping solutions, has announced a strategic partnership with fleet operator and mobility financier Bike Bazaar to roll out 5,000 electric two-wheelers across India over the next 18 months. The initiative is aimed at accelerating electric vehicle (EV) adoption, reducing carbon emissions, and strengthening sustainable last-mile delivery solutions across the country.
The large-scale deployment will benefit key sectors such as quick commerce, e-commerce, and food delivery while empowering gig economy workers with cost-efficient and eco-friendly mobility options. By expanding Indofast’s battery-swapping infrastructure to high-demand corridors and emerging geographies, the collaboration will ensure reduced downtime, lower operating costs, and uninterrupted operations for fleet operators.
“This partnership with Bike Bazaar marks a pivotal moment in accelerating India’s transition to clean mobility,” said Rajat Malhan, Senior Vice President, Indofast Energy. “By deploying 5,000 EVs and expanding our battery-swapping network, we aim to make last-mile delivery operations more efficient while contributing significantly to reducing carbon emissions.”
Karunakaran Vadakkepat, Co-Founder & Joint Managing Director of Bike Bazaar, added, “As a fleet operator and financier, our focus has always been on empowering gig workers with reliable and sustainable mobility solutions. This collaboration reinforces our shared vision of building a greener and more inclusive mobility future for India.”
The initiative also aligns with the government’s Automotive Mission Plan 2047 (AMP 2047), which emphasises large-scale EV adoption and sustainable transport solutions.
Indofast Energy has been forging multiple partnerships to boost India’s EV ecosystem. Its collaborations include working with Zypp Electric to deploy 100,000 EVs in major cities, partnering with Motovolt to integrate swapping technology into MVS7 scooters, installing 80 swap stations at 25 railway hubs with Indian Railways, deploying 20,000 e-bikes with EVeez, offering petrol-to-electric retrofit solutions with Green Tiger Mobility, and setting up battery-swapping centres with BESCOM in Bengaluru.
Through these collaborations and its latest partnership with Bike Bazaar, Indofast Energy is positioning itself as a key enabler of India’s EV-led mobility transition.
