Mahindra-owned Italian car design company and coachbuilder has exhibited the ‘Battista’ electric hypercar in India at the Hyderabad E-Motor Show.

EV HypercarThe 1900hp EV hypercar was also brought to the street circuit prepared for the Greenko Hyderabad E-Prix – the fourth round of the 2022/23 Formula E season.

This marks the first time that the Pininfarina Battista has been displayed in India.

What’s more, cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar was present for the Formula E race in Hyderabad, and even took a ride in the Pininfarina Battista on the street circuit, driven by Mahindra Racing Formula E team reserve driver Jehan Daruvala.

Often referred to as the ‘God of Cricket’ by his supporters, Tendulkar seemed to have had a great time in the Italian electric beast.

“The Pininfarina Battista had the perfect answer for “Are EVs the future?” It was so fast, we defied time and landed in the future! A wonderful achievement by Anand Mahindra & his team. Heartening to see Indian companies back cutting-edge, world-class automobiles,” Tendulkar tweeted.

Talking about the EV hypercar, it gets a quad-motor setup with a combined 1900hp power output and a massive 2300Nm peak torque rating. Pininfarina claims that the Battista can dash from 0 to 100 kmph in under 2 seconds, before reaching a top speed of 350 kmph. With a sizeable 120 kWh battery pack, the EV hypercar offers a range of 476 km on a single charge.

The Hyderabad E-Prix was the first time Formula E made its way to India, with Jean-Eric Vergne of DS Penske sealing a victory ahead of Nick Cassidy (Envision Racing) and Antonio Felix da Costa (Tag Heuer Porsche) in third.
