Advanced certificate programs in battery systems and e-drives have been announced by the Indian Institute of Technology, Bhubaneswar (IIT-BBS). These programs are specifically tailored to the demands of the contemporary automotive and e-mobility industries.

An MoU between the Nagpur-based pManifold EV Academy Pvt Ltd (evACAD) and the IIT Bhubaneswar Research and Entrepreneurship Park (IITBBS-REP) has been signed, according to officials.

According to IIT officials, the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) calls for cooperative research, consulting, and training in new energy fields pertaining to electric vehicles (EVs), more general zero-emission vehicles, and other green technologies, like hydrogen and carbon capture, utilization, and storage for multi-sectoral applications.

According to an official, professionals and recent graduates looking for advanced knowledge in electric vehicle design with an emphasis on motors, controllers, and battery engineering are the target audience for the advanced certificate program in e-drives and battery systems, created by IITBBS-REP and evACAD. Energy storage, supply chains, charging networks, and EV architecture are all included in the curriculum.

According to Prof. Shreepad Karmalkar, director of IIT-BBS, the program will give students essential exposure to startups and business, developing talent that is ready for real-world innovation in a sustainable future.
