Hyundai has revealed its Concept THREE, a futuristic design study that previews the upcoming IONIQ 3 electric SUV, expected to become a key model in the brand’s expanding EV lineup. The concept was officially unveiled as a bold design statement, showcasing the next evolution of Hyundai’s “Parametric Dynamics” styling language and offering insights into the company’s vision for mass-market electric mobility.
The IONIQ 3, based on Hyundai’s E-GMP (Electric Global Modular Platform), is positioned as a compact, affordable EV that will sit below the popular IONIQ 5 and IONIQ 7 SUVs. The Concept THREE highlights a radical design direction with sharp edges, futuristic lighting signatures, and a spacious, tech-driven interior aimed at young urban drivers seeking sustainable mobility.
Hyundai emphasised that the production version of the IONIQ 3 will retain many of the design cues from Concept THREE while being optimised for practicality and affordability. The vehicle will play a crucial role in Hyundai’s ambition to make EVs accessible to a wider audience, particularly in emerging markets and urban centres where compact electric SUVs are in high demand.
Alongside its design, the IONIQ 3 is expected to deliver a competitive range, advanced connectivity features, and fast-charging capabilities that align with Hyundai’s ongoing commitment to innovation in the EV space. With the launch timeline anticipated in late 2026, the model will strengthen Hyundai’s global EV portfolio and rival compact EV offerings from Tesla, BYD, and Volkswagen.
Hyundai officials stated that the Concept THREE serves as both a design experiment and a promise of democratising electric mobility, making clean and efficient transport available to more consumers worldwide.
