Hyundai has unveiled its bold plan to launch five electric vehicle (EV) models in the Indian market by 2030 that are produced domestically. It has been confirmed that the CRETA EV will be the first model, and production will begin by the end of this year.

The CRETA EV is anticipated to debut in 2025 and boasts an amazing 500 km range. It is anticipated that its features and design will be similar to those of the CRETA that has been facelifted. The estimated range is between ₹22 and ₹26 lakh.

Hyundai intends to introduce the VENUE EV, a vehicle meant to compete in the fiercely competitive EV market, after the CRETA EV. This model’s features and design will be derived from the next-generation vehicle, which is scheduled for introduction in 2025. Hyundai’s 2019 launch and 2022 redesign of the current VENUE model demonstrate the company’s dedication to ongoing innovation and advancement.

The third addition to Hyundai’s EV lineup will be the ALCAZAR EV, a three-row version of the CRETA EV. An update for the ICE ALCAZAR is anticipated later this year, with the EV model likely incorporating similar design updates and feature enhancements. This model will represent the Hyundai-Kia alliance’s second three-row vehicle for the Indian market, demonstrating their commitment to offering diverse options for consumers.

Hyundai’s budget offering in its all-electric portfolio will be the EXTER EV, designed to compete in the ₹10-12 lakh price bracket. This model will go head-to-head with models such as the Tiago EV, Punch EV, MG Comet, and Tata Tigor EV as well as future models from Maruti and Toyota.

The fifth model will be the updated IONIQ 5 EV expected to debut in India in the coming years.
