      HUBER+SUHNER Established as a global supplier of cooled cable technology for the high-power charging (HPC) market, HUBER+SUHNER has a diverse portfolio wherein they utilize their expertise in electrical and optical connectivity in developing advanced and differentiated solutions for demanding applications in a variety of industrial markets.

      HUBER+SUHNER develops and produces components and system solutions for electrical and optical connectivity. Their portfolio includes an extensive range of cables, cable assemblies, hybrid cables and cable systems, as well as antennas, radar and connectors.

      Expressing his views on the dynamic landscape of automotive market across the globe, Aishwarya had a brief talk with Robert Weirauch, Product Manager at HUBER+SUHNER discussing about their latest release of RADOX® EV-C Single-Core connection system.

      Recognized as a global leader offering electrical and optical connectivity solutions, what are HUBER+SUHNER key products in automotive sector?

      We are now focusing on high voltage solutions suitable for electric vehicles within the commercial segment. Within our product line we offer innovative RADOX cables, connection systems like EV-C and modular distribution boxes such as mHVDU.

      Reliable connection system is a vital component during the manufacturing of electric vehicles. What’s the USP of RADOX® EV-C Single-Core connection system?

      Through the new RADOX® EV-C Single-Core connection system, we now provide a completely validated solution that is simple and ready to install. This allows original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to vastly shorten time-to-market. Whilst our EV-C product line was initially launched in 2019, the new system reflects the further developments we have made and will continue to make to this already reliable solution.

      What’s HUBER+SUHNER model for sustainability and committing towards net zero carbon footprint?

      HUBER+SUHNER considers care for the environment as an important and vital aspect of its corporate social responsibility. All parts of the HUBER+SUHNER group comply with the relevant laws and regulations across all industries and assume responsibility for the environmental impact caused by their activities. The company is using a life cycle perspective to influence the way its products and services are designed, manufactured, distributed, used, and disposed. Consequently, it is applying the life cycle assessment (LCA) technique to determine environmental impacts over the course of the entire value chain from raw material extraction to disposal or recycling. The company strives to continuously improve its environmental performance within the limits of its economic capacity.

      Are the automotive offerings customizable? Mention any challenging customization experience the company dealt with, if any.

      Yes, our connection systems can be easily customized to suit customer’s unique requirements. This starts with cable selection, before moving to connection system, in which we can offer a few variants. Lastly, we can also customize the whole modular box. In terms of challenges, the biggest would be meeting the relevant validation. Every system we supply must be tested and approved prior to release. HUBER+SUHNER strive to offer the safest, reliable products on the market, and our process of testing is stringent for this reason.

      Any upcoming products or projects HUBER+SUHNER is currently working on? 

      There are many things in the pipeline, but we are currently working on our next generation ecofriendly products for the automotive industry. We will also continue to enhance and improve our modular boxes found within our offerings. This work will help us to anticipate any upcoming market needs, and by extension, continue offering excellent products to our customers.
