At the HarmonyOS Smart Mobility Spring Launch Event, Huawei officially introduced its new electric drive system brand, HUAWEI DriveONE, announced by Executive Director and Terminal BG Chairman Yu Chengdong.
Huawei claims DriveONE leads in both powertrain performance and shipment volume for vehicles priced above RMB 300,000 (around $41,500+) in China. The system has also recorded over 40 billion kilometers of safe driving mileage.
Technically, DriveONE is built on a dual silicon carbide (SiC) platform with efficiency exceeding 94%. Its range extender efficiency also surpasses 94%, compared to an industry average of 91%, while pure electric efficiency reaches over 94% versus roughly 92% in the market.
The system includes an automatic off-road mode with an adaptive dog-clutch differential lock and ultra-low-speed crawling capability down to 0.5 km/h, reducing speed fluctuations on rough terrain by more than 55%.
Huawei emphasized its vertically integrated technology stack, including in-house SiC modules, a 56-turn high-efficiency motor, and AI-based control systems. Combined with a planetary gear architecture, low-viscosity lubricants, and ultra-thin 0.15 mm insulation, the platform aims to significantly improve energy efficiency and performance.
DriveONE is already in mass production. The GAC Toyota Bozhi 7, launched in March 2026, is equipped across all variants with Huawei’s electric drive system, delivering up to 97.5% motor efficiency and supporting rotational speeds of up to 22,000 RPM.
