In a historic alliance with World Athletics, Honda Motor Co. Ltd. is going to serve as the official worldwide sponsor of the World Athletics Championships Tokyo 2025 (WCH Tokyo 25). Honda will sponsor the famous tournament for the first time in its history, providing a fleet of electric cars to assist the event, which will take place at Tokyo’s National Stadium from September 13–21, 2025.

The world’s top track and field competition, the World Athletics Championships, attracts competitors from more than 200 nations. According to Honda’s pledge, its electric cars would drive marathon races and carry competitors, officials, and referees. By lessening its environmental impact, this project helps the event achieve its sustainability objectives and is consistent with Honda and World Athletics’ shared dedication to eco-friendly solutions.

Toshihiro Mibe, Global CEO of Honda, was enthusiastic about the collaboration, saying, “We will help to lessen the event’s environmental impact by using environmentally friendly Honda goods and technologies. Honda is passionate about helping those who are overcoming obstacles to achieve their goals.

Sebastian Coe, president of World Athletics, praised Honda’s sponsorship as well, stating, “This collaboration unites two organizations with a common goal of building a better future for future generations.” Honda’s donation of electric cars will reduce our event’s negative environmental effects and further our sustainability goals.

The championships will be held in Japan for the third time, with Tokyo serving as the previous host in 1991. Honda’s participation demonstrates its overarching goal of encouraging and assisting people in pursuing their goals via athletics while advancing environmental responsibility.
