Activa e’s Lite plan is priced at Rs 678 per month and gives the user 20 kWh of energy.
At the January Auto Expo, Honda introduced the Activa e, the country’s first scooter with interchangeable batteries. Honda currently offers a new, more economical “Lite” plan designed especially for those with lesser daily usage. The business previously sold the Activa e with a battery as a subscription plan.
The high operating costs (for an EV) of the Activa e, which were on par with those of a 125cc ICE scooter, were one of the areas where we felt the scooter fell short at the first ride event. Honda has launched the new Lite subscription plan, which costs Rs 678 a month and provides 20 kWh of energy, in an effort to counter that.
The original subscription plans for the Activa e: are still available and cost Rs 1,999 for the Basic plan and Rs 3,999 for the Advanced plan. These plans provide 35 kWh and 87 kWh of energy, respectively. Honda stated at the ride event that a user could travel up to 40 kilometres per day with the 35 kWh of energy included in the basic plan. An Activa e: owner can go over 23 kilometres per day on the Lite plan, according to some mental calculations.
It’s important to note that Honda bills you based on the overall quantity of energy utilised within a given month. This implies that the excess usage will be offset by the subsequent days’ reduced consumption, even if you manage to stay below the daily limit for a few days after exceeding it on a particular day.
Owners of the Activa e who only use it for shorter distances each day will undoubtedly be happy to hear about this Lite plan, but it doesn’t address other problems like the lack of a home charging station for the battery pack and the sparse number of battery-swapping stations available nationwide.
Honda Activa e price and range
The sole distinction between the two versions of the Activa e—the ordinary model, which costs Rs 1.17 lakh, and the RoadSync Duo model, which costs Rs 1.52 lakh—is that the latter has a large 7-inch TFT screen and a joystick for controlling all of its features. Both have the same claimed IDC range of 102 km and are powered by identical twin 1.5 kWh battery packs.
The Activa e, QC1, Honda’s Electric Racing Go-Kart (eGX), and the adorable little Moto Compacto are also on show at Honda’s newly opened EV Concept Zone in Bengaluru, along with a demonstration battery-swapping station.
