Heybike, one of several rapidly expanding electric bike manufacturers in the US and Europe, debuted the Galaxy Series. The new e-bike series, known as the Galaxy line, consists of five new models rather than just one.
Riders seeking an e-bike for commuting, exploring, transporting equipment, or simply riding mountain trails appear to be covered by the several designs.
Five different e-bikes make up the Galaxy line: the Galaxy T for long-distance touring, the Galaxy C for city commuting, the Galaxy K for small-space city riding, the Galaxy M for mountain trails and the Galaxy X for serious adventure and load hauling. Though each is unique, they are all based on the same foundation: Heybike’s in-house Galaxy eDrive System. This includes torque-intensive mid-drive motors, integrated LCD screens, and 500 Wh detachable batteries that are neatly nestled inside the frames.
The Galaxy T, M, and X are equipped with Shimano 9-speed drivetrains and a Venus Plus mid-drive motor that can provide up to 100 Nm of torque, making them ideal for riders seeking significant muscle. With a 7-speed Shimano Nexus internal gear hub, the Galaxy C’s Venus motor can still generate 80 Nm, which is more than enough to propel it through urban traffic. Even the stylish, urban-orientated Galaxy K has an 80 Nm motor and a 9-speed gearbox, providing small-sized performance without sacrificing oomph.
Furthermore, it goes beyond what’s under the hood—or, in this case, the downtube. These bikes are loaded with higher-quality parts than those found in the majority of Asian-import brands in the West. The spec sheets include parts like internally geared rear hubs, VELO handlebars, Schwalbe tyres, SR Suntour front suspension forks (on the T and M), and Shimano hydraulic disc brakes. With a 150 kg (330 lb) carrying capacity and a fully integrated rear rack that uses the MIK Click Go system to snap on baskets, panniers, or even a child seat, the Galaxy X in particular appears to be built for serious load hauling.
The Galaxy series doesn’t appear to be your usual low-cost option in terms of design. The bikes have streamlined designs, built-in turn lights at the back, and a distinctive hexagonal frame that adds style and stiffness. Even the Red Dot Award for Product Design and the 2025 German Design Award were given to the Galaxy T and K versions.
With this debut, Heybike also emphasised sustainability in both the e-bikes and the packaging. Every bike is packaged in recyclable, environmentally friendly cartons that may also be used as do-it-yourself craft kits. Yes, the boxes are printed with cutout designs that allow you to construct decorations or creatures out of the actual packing. It’s an amusing and eccentric touch that demonstrates Heybike’s attention to detail and desire to make e-bike ownership more enjoyable for the whole family while also being a little more environmentally friendly.
In just four years, Heybike has amassed over 200,000 riders worldwide, suggesting that it is becoming a significant brand in the e-bike industry. The Galaxy Series appears to be a significant improvement in terms of overall ambition, performance, and design. The Galaxy collection appears prepared to propel Heybike a step or two up the e-bike brand hierarchy ladder, whether it is a cargo-hauling powerhouse, a tough trail machine, or a stylish city commuter.
