Hero MotoCorp anticipates selling between 13,000 and 15,000 units a month with the Vida V2 and the less expensive model, ACPD.
Hero MotoCorp is preparing to introduce two reasonably priced electric two-wheelers in the first half of the current fiscal year 2026 to increase production and capture market share in the electric two-wheeler industry.
“In the first half of the year, probably in July, we want to launch two new, reasonably priced items. That would enable us to increase our market share and speed up our expansion,” Hero MotoCorp’s top executives informed investors on Wednesday.
The company sells electric cars under the Vida brand. The V2 is the main model, and there are three variations: the V2 Pro, V2 Plus, and V2 Lite. The present portfolio’s ex-showroom price falls between Rs 74,000 to Rs 1.15 lakh.
“We will be launching an upgrade very soon that will address the fundamental needs of customers throughout the segment and offer a far better value proposition to them.” The management stated that it would be introduced in July.
According to reports, a new model is being created as part of the ACPD project, which should further reduce the price point and put it closer to ICE scooters in the market.
Currently, the company produces about 7,000 electric cars every month. Hero MotoCorp anticipates selling between 13,000 and 15,000 units per month with the Vida V2 and the less expensive model, ACPD, with ambitions to increase that number to 20,000 units by the 2025 holiday season, according to sources.
The Vida Z, Hero MotoCorp’s second new model, was unveiled last year and is anticipated to be on sale this year. Hero MotoCorp will launch the Vida Z as its first product in the UK and Europe.
Hero MotoCorp shipped 58,503 units overall in the fiscal year 2025, compared to 19,805 units in the fiscal year 2024. The company sold 48,674 units, up from 17,720 units, according to retail data.
Hero MotoCorp, meanwhile, hopes to break even in the electric car market in a few years with 25,000–30,000 units sold per month on average.
