In the upcoming months, three established ICE brands—Hero, Bajaj, and TVS—will introduce their most reasonably priced electric scooters in India.
The Indian vehicle industry’s electric two-wheeler market is developing quickly, with new models appearing occasionally. Specifically, the e-scooter market has experienced unheard-of expansion in recent years. With their electric scooters, top automakers Hero, Bajaj, and TVS are present in this market. These businesses, however, are now trying to reach consumers in the sub-Rs 1 lakh market, where Ola Electric enjoys a high level of appeal. The future electric scooters in India that cost less than Rs 1 lakh will be discussed in this article.
1. Hero Vida VX2
Hero MotoCorp has declared that an inexpensive electric scooter will be available in the Indian market on July 1, 2025. Known as the Vida VX2, it has been seen in plain sight before its formal release, disclosing a number of facts. During the 2025 Bharat Mobility Global Expo in New Delhi, the rebranded Vida Z was on display.
There will be three different Hero Vida VX2 models: VX2 Lite, VX2 Plus, and VX2 Pro. Due to cost reductions and maintaining an aggressive price, it will not include some of the premium features that we have seen in the Vida V2. The V2 will share the same battery pack and electric motor, and the range of both of these electric scooter models is probably going to be the same. Prices for the VX2 could start at Rs 65,000 (ex-showroom).
2. TVS Jupiter EV
TVS intends to introduce a low-cost electric scooter in the domestic market that will sit beneath the iQube. Later this year, during the Diwali holiday (October–November), the new, reasonably priced e-scooter is probably going to be released. The new model is anticipated to have a simpler design, fewer functions, and a smaller battery pack than the iQube, despite the fact that not much is known about it.
Given that the corporation has already registered this name as a trademark, it might be called Jupiter EV. According to our sources, the new TVS electric scooter may cost between Rs 85,000 and Rs 90,000 (ex-showroom). The top speed and range will be comparable to the competing models, but lower than the iQube. In India, it will be the first TVS electric scooter.
3. New Bajaj E-Scooter
Rakesh Sharma, Executive Director at Bajaj Auto, has confirmed the debut of a new electric scooter by the end of June 2025 during an investor call. It will be the least expensive model in Bajaj Chetak’s lineup and will be based on the 2903 e-scooter. Although there is now little information available about this new e-scooter, we anticipate that the firm will provide more information in the days ahead.
