Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini unveiled 50 new electric vehicles for door-to-door waste pickup, raising the total fleet to more than 500.

The Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) is actively improving its sanitation infrastructure, particularly door-to-door rubbish collection. In addition, 19 HCS officers have been assigned to oversee sanitation operations in all wards within the corporation area.

As part of the government’s Solid Waste Environmental Excellence Performance (SWEEP) initiative, the monitoring of cleanliness and waste disposal is being intensified. Secondary garbage collection sites, including Khandsa and Vatika Chowk, have been transformed into zero garbage points to ensure consistent waste removal.

The newly introduced electric vehicles are expected to accelerate household garbage collection while also contributing to environmental protection.
