The iON HT, a highway-terrain tire designed especially for electric light-duty trucks, is the newest member of the iON product family, according to leading international tire manufacturer Hankook Tire. The iON HT supports the particular requirements of electric light-duty trucks by offering all-season adaptability, reduced rolling resistance, remarkable riding comfort, and increased longevity thanks to iON’s innovative technology.

With its “XL” load designation, the iON HT is specifically designed to offer enhanced strength and stiffness to support heavier battery packs that are a feature of electric platforms as well as additional freight with frequent light-truck use.

According to Rob Williams, President of Hankook Tire America Corp., “Electric vehicles, especially in the emerging light-duty truck category, bring new challenges and place unique demands on their tires.” “The iON HT is built from the ground up to deliver exceptional EV performance and perfectly embodies the kind of innovation our iON line has come to represent for the industry.”

      – First Hankook highway-terrain tire designed for electric light-duty trucks

      – iON HT offers high-load support, ultra-low rolling resistance, and an 80K limited treadwear warranty

      – iON HT on display for the first time at the 2025 Electrify Expo in Los Angeles

The iON HT, the newest model in Hankook’s EV-specific iON series, increases the range of EVs by fusing reduced energy loss technology with all-season dependability. Important characteristics include:

      • Roll Lite Compound and Opti Cure Technology work together to reduce internal friction and optimize curing temperature, contributing to lower rolling resistance and improved battery efficiency
      • ProDurable Compound and Opti Tread Technology improve wear resistance by dispersing road pressure evenly, resulting in a tread life of up to 80,000 miles, one of the highest among EV tyres.
      • New 3D-Embossed Sipe and flared shoulder grooves provide reliable grip and water evacuation for enhanced all-season traction, especially in wet conditions
      • Aggressive shoulder block design and iON Clad construction protect against external impact without sacrificing ride comfort

On June 21 and 22, the 2025 Electrify Expo Port of LA festival will feature the iON HT for the first time. Attendees will be able to enjoy the advantages of Hankook’s expanding range of EV-focused tyre technologies in the Demo District.
