Switch Mobility Ltd has flagged of its double-decker bus, Switch EiV 22 at the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2024.
The inauguration was conducted by Bhupendrabhai Patel, Hon’ble Chief Minister of the Government of Gujarat, at Gujarat International Finance Tec-City (GIFT City), signifying a significant stride toward shaping the future of sustainable urban mobility.
The Chief Minister, along with dignitaries including Minister of State for Transport Harsh Sanghavi, GIFT City Chairman Hasmukh Adhia, GIFT City Managing Director Tapan Ray, Additional Chief Secretary (Ports, Transport, Revenue) MK Das, and GSRTC MD MA Gandhi, embarked on the inaugural ride of the Switch EiV 22, marking a historic moment in Gujarat’s commitment to environmentally friendly public transportation.
As part of the Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation’s (GSRTC) dedication to enhancing public transportation in the state, five Switch EiV 22 double-decker buses have been acquired. Manufactured by Switch Mobility, these buses will operate on the Gandhinagar-Ahmedabad route along the SG Highway, offering a sustainable transit option for commuters. SWITCH Mobility will manage the supply, operation, and maintenance of these electric buses, contributing to cleaner and smarter intra-city travel.

Launched in August 2022, the Switch EiV 22 boasts a contemporary double-decker design and fully electric capabilities, revolutionizing intra-city bus travel in India. Equipped with advanced lithium-ion NMC chemistry, the 231 kWh battery pack offers an impressive 250 km range per day. The buses prioritize comfort with premium interiors, lightweight cushions, and features like ‘Switch iON’ for remote diagnostics and real-time monitoring.
Switch Mobility’s extensive fleet, with nearly 600 buses, operates seamlessly across major Indian cities, covering over 50+ million eco-friendly kilometers since 2018.
